There are some common questions that come up when people are planning an event at Red Scooter, so to assist we have tried to answer some of those here!

What do the event packages include?

Our event packages have been tailored to provide you with a hassle free all-inclusive package. Your package can include:
  • Fantastic food
  • Exclusive use of your chosen event space
  • Unlimited beverages associated with your chosen package
  • Quality linen and tableware
  • Table centrepieces, candles and cleaning of venue
  • Fully licensed security/car park attendants
  • Fully trained staff offering a professional level of food and beverage service

  • Printed menus for tables
  • Special dietary requirements catered for
  • Disabled access and toilet facilities
  • Prices include room hire (for minimum number events)

Can I make a tentative booking?

You can make a tentative booking for your preferred date and we will hold this for you for up to 7 days. Red Scooter reserves the right to take a confirmed booking over any tentative booking but we will try to let you know and give you first option to confirm wherever possible.

What do I need to do to confirm my booking?

We require a deposit along with the completed booking form, which you will receive with your proposal to confirm your booking. There are different deposit requirements depending on the event so please refer to your proposal or contact your event coordinator on 03 9527 6846 if you are unsure.

When will I need to advise final numbers and make payment?

Red Scooter requires notification of the final number of guests attending your event, including any special dietary requests 10 working days prior to the date. If final numbers fall below the minimum attendance requirement, penalties may apply so please refer to our terms and conditions for further information. 

Full payment is required 7 working days prior to your event.  We accept cash, bank guaranteed cheques, direct debit or credit card. Should you wish to pay by personal cheque, this must be received 15 working days prior to your event. Payment must be received in full prior to your event for it to proceed.
When will I be able to access the venue?
You will be able to access the venue 2 hours prior to the commencement of your event and 1 hour after. An additional charge may apply if earlier or later access is required.  Red Scooter must be notified at least 72 hours prior to the event regarding arrival and load out times of equipment etc.

How long will my event go for?

Our standard duration for events is five hours; however, should you wish to extend your event beyond this we will provide options to accommodate your needs.  A surcharge or minimum spend may apply, please check with us for availability of extra time and the applicable charges.  

Is there stage available at the venue?

Absolutely!  Each stage section measures 2000mm x 1000mm x 300mm high with charcoal carpet decks and black skirts.  Staging per section is $110.00.  There is an additional labour charge for stage set and pull down of $220.00.

Does Red Scooter have a Responsible Service of Alcohol Policy?

Red Scooter staff are trained in the Responsible Serving of Alcohol, and by law may refuse to serve alcohol to any person/s who seems to be intoxicated. Red Scooter prohibits any minors under the age of 18 years to be served or given any alcoholic beverages.

What parking options are available for guests?

The Red Scooter experience begins before you enter the venue - in the car park. As guests approach the first floor venue with its red door and striped awning, they are guided by our licensed crowd controllers and car park attendants using an air craft landing torch into designated car parking spaces, for the exclusive use of our patrons.

On and off street parking is available in William Street to the north of Nightingale Street, Stuart Street, William Place & Charles Street. All car parking spaces are estimated to be within a 3-minute walking distance to Red Scooter.

Can you access Red Scooter by Public Transport?

Red Scooter has excellent access to public transport and this is also a sustainable option  for your guests attending the event.

Train:
Balaclava Railway Station is located immediately west of Red Scooter (running between Sandringham and Melbourne CBD).

Trams:
Tram route No.3 operates along Carlisle Street between East Malvern and Melbourne University.
Tram route No. 69 operates along Carlisle Street between St Kilda Beach and Kew.

Buses:
Bus route No. 216 operates along Hotham Street approximately 600 meters east of Red Scooter and provides a connection between Deer Park West and Brighton Beach Station.

Bus route No. 219 operates along Hotham Street approximately 600 meters east of Red Scooter and provides a connection between Sunshine Park and Bus Route No. 216.

Bus route No. 623 operates along St Kilda Road approximately 530 meters west of Red Scooter and provides a connection between Glen Waverley Station and St Kilda.

What happens if I need to cancel my event?

We share your disappointment if you are unable to proceed with your event. Should your event be cancelled or postponed, please refer to our terms and conditions for charges which may be applicable.
