Eammon Hamilton – Director of First Impressions

Eammon is the Managing Director and driver of the development of Red Scooter.

The venue was originally an opportunity for cheap accommodation and when he and three mates moved in to the warehouse in September 1993, they had no idea that they were about to build a future in the same building.  Eammon’s natural flair for hospitality and entrepreneurship rose to the occasion and by 1995, Eammon and his colleagues were holding private dinner parties for friends. Word spread and more than friends became interested. From there, through hard work, energy and persistence, the Red Scooter we know today developed.

Today, over 2,000 functions later, Red Scooter is a great reflection of Eammon and the Hamilton family’s life passions – the event spaces are aptly named after his daughter - Madisson, the family pet - Dakota  and the entire space referred to as the ‘Hamilton’ Room – perhaps for his youngest son EJ to take over one day!  Eammon’s other passion in life is sustainability and the environment – something that is woven throughout Red Scooter’s operations.

  Flora Hamilton - Director

If you’re lucky enough to be a Red Scooter guest and can stop having a good time for long enough to carefully look around, you’ll notice a subtle game in progress. It’s called “let’s pretend Eammon is the boss” and everyone plays it. Especially Flora, because she started it.

When Flora met Eammon he was just your typical easygoing happy Aussie bloke who liked having a few friends around for a few beers and a good time. With a history of hotel and venue management,  Flora recognised his raw talent and decided to hone it into something useful (to her).  What Flora needed was someone to do all the boring boss stuff, like the books and the staffing and the worrying, while she got on with the job of being the real boss.

Bridee McMahon - Director of Sales

With over 12 years of experience in the hospitality industry working both in Australia and abroad, Bridee's main focus at Red Scooter is to 'work with our clients to give them the best event ever.'  Her previous roles have included the Hong Kong dining group, The Willows and the Prince Group incorporating Circa & Comme.

She claims that the hospitality industry 'chose her' and her love for delivering great events in her professional life transpires to her personal life where she tries to attend as many live music events as possible.  Unfortunately her favourite food of Irish potato bread doesn't hit the Red Scooter menu, but she says Joel couldn't compete anyhow, it is only good when her grandmother makes it!

Want to talk about an upcoming event?  Then email Bridee.

Joel Reilly – Head Chef

Our Head Chef, Joel Reilly ensures that Red Scooter focuses on continually evolving the menus and dining experience we offer guests.  Joel understands the balance between a great offering and considering the environment and sustainability issues such as being aware of ‘food kilometres’ and organic production.

His favourite foods are Japanese and Spanish - an interesting combination but being a lover of food, he feels you need to try everything and could never decide between the two!  He chose this career after trying a few other jobs but found that nothing inspired him the way that great food did, and, he always wanted a job he could travel with.  He has worked at renowned Melbourne establishments such as the Rialto and Cecconi's and knows that his traits of being charming & funny may be a little odd for a chef -  but that is because he knows how to unwind passing down time with a good game of golf or watching a flick!

  Erin Dungen - Event Coordinator

Erin knew hospitality was her passion when she started working in the industry at the young age of 15.  Since then, some of her career highlights have included working at Telstra Dome, the Australian Open, Mercury Events and more recently, The Willows.  She brings over 10 years of experience to operations and understands that your guests are there to receive five star service from the team.  Full of smiles (don't worry, they are free!) she will ensure that the food is efficiently delivered, the glasses are full and everyone is content!

If you ever want to bribe her, then that's easy... her favourite food is Hot Chips (Joel does this often) or, just offer her some time to do her favourite thing - shop!

Di Logan – Accounts Manager

Di Logan has been part of the Red Scooter family since 2004 and the fact we are still operating means she is pretty good at what she does!  Di keeps everyone in line watching what money comes in and what goes out – our accounting systems are just as organised as our events – to perfection so this ensures there will be no problems post your event, however, if you had a question about your account, you could just email Di.
