Private Function Rooms Melbourne

Post World War I in North America, London, Paris and Berlin – it was like the world was reborn.  Gangsters ruled and the era saw the birth of the ‘Flapper’ - a "new breed" of young women who wore short skirts, bobbed their hair and listened to jazz!  The most popular dances were the Foxtrot, Waltz and Tango, and venues such as the Cotton Club became famous.

Step back in to the Art Deco era at Red Scooter – when you guests arrive on the Red Carpet, they will be greeted by Gangsters and Flappers, and then step into a Twenties dance club venue adorned with crystal chandeliers, café tables, a great dance floor, and of course – a jazz band!

Event Name: Oakley South Pacific Gangster Christmas Dinner, 19th December 2008
Number of Guests: 100 guests

Jazz, flappers, prohibition and gangsters was the theme and boy did Oakley South Pacific know how to dress up!  There was not a guest out of character.  Red Scooter transported guests back in time to an era called the “roaring 20s” and this was for good reason.  The room was smoke filled as guests arrived with to hear the music of the 1920s loudly playing by an eight piece Jazz band.  Towering crystal centrepieces dimly lit all added to the scene.  Guests danced the Foxtrot and Waltz across the checkerboard dancefloor as black and white silent movies played on the big screen.

Event Name: Davis Langdon 1920’s Gangster Luncheon, 18th December 2009
Number of Guests: 140

As guests arrived to their 1920’s Gangsters Themed luncheon, they were taken back in time to the roaring 20s – to the time of illicit gambling and drinking, cigarette holders, feather boas and of course The Charleston.  Guests were greeted on entry by three gangsters holding violin cases demanding a secret password.  The room’s theme was set off with low level lighting, black linen and crystal centrepieces.  Straight after lunch, it was Showtime with a professional performance by a 1920’s 5 piece band. After the show guests tried their hand at the gangster run casino!
