Some Wedding Reception success stories...
Event Name: Sharon and Stephen Krygger
Number of Guests: 100
For Sharon and Stephen, this wedding was about a celebration of friends and family gathering together in an intimate and beautiful setting. Sharon’s heritage is Chinese and Indian, with a rich history of lavish weddings with minimum 400 people. Although her Mum had already planned something of this description in Singapore, their Melbourne nuptials were about their closest companions with an intimate crowd of 100. With specific ideas in mind and tailoring our Madisson room with traditional décor, Sharon made over 40 Chinese lanterns to be hung around the space, with the addition of fairy lights as well. Both bride and groom coming from a salsa dancing background; dancing featured heavily in the evening’s festivities, with a quick dress change made prior to their first dance for maximum maneuverability! Roving dessert was a great option for their guests, as majority didn’t make it off the dance floor for the remainder of the evening!

"Thanks so much for the impeccable care Red Scooter gave us in ensuring the night went off perfectly. Thank you for changing around the tables and for generally being delightful to work with! Please thank Eammon and Belinda for being just INCREDIBLE on the night itself. Thanks for everything, it was truly MAGNIFICENT!"

Event Name: Kassandra and Rasim Sezgi
Number of Guests: 110
Kassandra and Rasim happened to walk into our venue one fateful Saturday just for a look. They came back the following Saturday to look again and as they say, the rest is history! A young couple who were incredibly certain about what they wanted, Red Scooter provided the perfect venue to host their big day. Kassandra and her bridesmaids arrived upstairs prior to the ceremony, utilising the Baroq décor and big red chair for photos; whilst her husband-to-be waited anxiously downstairs with his crew. The couple wed in our Ceremony Room, a beautiful non-denominational space perfectly suited for this pair for their unique formalities, including a tea ceremony! Guests moved upstairs to the Madisson room for daiquiris and canapés whilst the bridal party took photos around the St Kilda area. They joined their guests and the celebrations began - entrée and mains were served with speeches intermixed, and our couple took to the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. Kassandra’s brother had the responsibility of providing the tunes on the evening and did so effortlessly, with majority of our crowd up and boogying by the end of this fabulous wedding.

Event Name: Jacalyn and Theo Kefladelis
Number of Guests: 60
Jacalyn and Theo wed in a Greek church with a very traditional Greek ceremony. This was however, where the tradition ended. They didn’t have 250 guests, a huge reception with 10 bridesmaids or do the zorba (much). Instead our couple insisted on a laid back wedding for 60 of their closest friends and family for an intimate lunch time reception. The pair chose to utilise our unique cross setup, with two sets of long banquet tables joining in the centre, a truly magnificent sight! To keep things fresh (and I’m sure to confuse our chef!) Jacalyn and Theo had one course at each end of the cross, giving them the ability to mingle with all of their guests. Their vision for the day was of a glamorous wedding without the fuss of an evening event and Red Scooter delivered it easily with style.

Event Name: Laura and Ricc Conti
Number of Guests: 230
Expectations for Laura and Ricc’s wedding were mixed, Laura coming from an Australian background, Ricc – Italian. With a European influence there was always going to be a large guest list, but luckily we can cater in style! The couple decided to tweak our packages somewhat to suit their demographic with the addition of antipasto platters to each table, complete with Buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto additions! Our guests enjoyed canapés and beverages in the Ethan room before making their way down the Red Carpet and upstairs. Everyone was seated before the announcement of our newlyweds, parading down from the mezzanine level and over to the bridal table, beautifully positioned in front of decorative mirrors and gorgeous chandeliers. Entrées were served and cleared whilst guests hopped in and out of the vintage photo booth and the couple took to the floor for their bridal waltz. Fabulously choreographed by the cheeky duo their first dance was entertaining and romantic before they invited the rest of their guests to the dance floor to join in.

Event Name: Mary-Ann and Dee Tang
Number of Guests: 230
From the word go Mary-Anne and Dee loved our venue, however coming from traditional Vietnamese families they had specific requirements for their wedding. They presented us with a challenge – based on a traditional banquet style wedding, adapt our service to accommodate 230 of their friends and family with a menu close to that of their heritage. Game on!
Guests were welcomed along our trademark Red carpet into the Ethan Room for pre-dinner drinks and canapés, before the announcement of the bridal party and some short acknowledgements from their families. Making their way up to the elegant Hamilton Room, our guests were invited in with strawberry daiquiris and a beautiful slideshow of the bridal party. Based off our hand held dining menu our Head Chef Joel put together a range of elements to complement our couple’s heritage; add our Japanese, Peking Duck and Yum Cha food stations and you have yourself an event!
By request from our beautiful bride we had a very unique setup. The top half of the room was set with tables whilst the Madisson half was set for cocktail and the dance floor. Really mixing the elements of cuisines, cultures and formats the wedding was a huge success, with the couple opting to extend their event to party longer!!

Event Name: Rachel and Peter Tyrell
Number of Guests: 100
Rachel and Peter were extremely lucky on their wedding day, cold winds and Melbourne rain were replaced by a spectacular sunny winter’s day. Welcomed into the Madisson room with an arrival bar setup and canapés freely available, our guests took their seats before the introduction of Mr and Mrs Tyrrell from the mezzanine level. A beautiful menu was designed including a marinated rack of lamb, oven baked chicken and roast pumpkin risotto topped with Persian feta and crushed ammeriti biscuits. With the format designed with a hand held dessert service, our guests had the freedom to socialize, dance and table swap without missing out on the range of sweets available! Wedding cake was served with tea and coffee and the bride and groom left their reception an extremely happy couple.

Event Name: Nicola and Marcus Walsh
Number of Guests: 100
When Nicola and Marcus came to see Red Scooter, they had already been to 5 other Melbourne venues that day. With a solid idea of what they wanted for their nuptials, the couple needed to find a venue that could accommodate their needs and adapt to their ideas. Luckily for us, we offer an extremely flexible menu (both food and beverage!), as well as the convenience of a stunning on-site ceremony space with the ability to flow straight into the reception. Their guests arrived into our Ceremony space, complemented beautifully with flowers supplied by the couple and our signature Louis ghost chairs. The reception began upstairs immediately after, with our guests enjoying arrival drinks and canapés in the Dakota room, completely unaware as to any other setting for the wedding…. Until MC Richard announced dinner was to be served and REVEALED the Madisson room! Beautifully set in black sequined linen with crystal centrepieces, our guests took their seats for entrée of char grilled butterflied quail, a few speeches and main meals of oven roasted chicken and tender eye fillet. The couple took to the floor for their bridal waltz, our big red chair hosted the removal of the garter and Nicola passed on her bouquet. The night wrapped up with a traditional farewell, before those guests still partying headed off to Eve for the post wedding celebrations!

Event Name: Rosemary and Michael Vernali
Number of Guests: 240
For us at Red Scooter, Rosemary was probably one of the best brides we have ever dealt with. Our job is to make your life easier on your wedding day, but Rosemary sure made the organising easy! Always before our designated due dates we had seating lists, entertainers details, menu options, final numbers – she was flawless. Come the big day and there was nothing left to do except celebrate with their family and friends whilst leaving all of the details to us. Choosing our beautiful black sequined linen and crystal centrepieces the Hamilton room looked absolutely stunning and was the perfect backdrop for photos with their bridal party. Midnight Blue supplied the tunes and the MC with lead singer Lissa a perfect choice – utilizing her Italian skills for the Bride’s speech. It was a lovely wedding for a fantastic couple, ending with plenty of dessert, wine and happy guests.

Event Name: Andrew and Danielle Lewis Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Number of Guests: 120
For Danielle and Andrew there was never another option than Red Scooter for their special day. After attending a friends’ wedding here, Danielle (especially) fell in love with the décor, service and appeal of our unique venue. It was a long lead up ensuring all of the details were perfect and to quote our gorgeous bride “I don’t do things by halves”. So they had the works; a beautiful wedding in our Ceremony room, before their spectacularly entertaining reception in the Madisson Room. Guests posed in the vintage photo booth between snacks from their personalised lolly buffet and sets from rocking DJ Bruce. Danielle and Andrew left their reception on a high having celebrated with their friends, revelled with their family and pulled off their perfect wedding.

Event Name: Jeton and Naomi Ahmedi Wedding Reception
Number of Guests: 45
Now we know we are popular, but having Jeton and Naomi travel all the way from Western Australia to get married at Red Scooter confirms our theory! And the couple certainly wed in style. Choosing to elope in Hayman Island, they wanted to share the celebration in Melbourne with those who are closest- a very intimate wedding of just 45 family and friends. The privileged few arrived into our Dakota room for delicious pre-lunch canapés whilst being greeted by our newlywed pair. The reveal of the dining area wowed even the staff with the addition or gorgeous crystal Tiffany chairs for every guest complimenting our signature white linen and orchid glass centrepieces, perfectly. Main meals were served before a few of the ‘Red Scooter’ staff decided a performance was in order…. Masquerading as venue staff from the start of the function, ‘The 3 Waiters’ provided an unexpectedly glorious show! The Three Waiters ® is a group of professional opera singers, who take event entertainment and the concept of singing waiters to the next level. Playing off their audience the performance is spontaneous, humorous, sophisticated and engaging. The afternoon continued on a high from the formalities to the bridal waltz and finally the reveal of a chocolate sensation and station for the guests to indulge. Naomi and Jeton left elated, having celebrated their runaway nuptials with their nearest and dearest.

Event Name: Katarina and George Siatos Wedding Reception
Number of Guests: 100
Every wedding we host at Red Scooter is remarkably important and unique, however this one was performed a little differently than first planned. Our beautiful bride Katarina is the older sister of one of our very favourite and integral staff members, Adriana. We generally wouldn’t use the words ‘special treatment’ (as every wedding is special at Scooter!), however this event certainly surprised. Guests entered through the Dakota room to be greeted with scrumptious canapés and a Yum Cha station that was our gift for the lovely couple. Meanwhile, the bridal party relaxed with a glass of bubbles secretly watching their guests take their seats. As the excitement built downstairs, one by one the bridal party pairs were announced from the mezzanine level (our secret upper level retreat) before Katarina and George cut their delicious red and white velvet cake. In true Croatian style guests sipped on home-made schnapps with their meals, and circled the black and white dance floor with the Kolo. In true Red Scooter style - we revealed a huge surprise chocolate fountain including a baker’s market station, much to the amazement of the unsuspecting couple and guests!

"Dear Red Scooter team, thank you so much for making our wedding reception so spectacular and memorable. We have had so many of our guests tell us that it was hands down the BEST wedding reception ever! You guys went above and beyond and we are sincerely grateful."

Event Name: Kevin and Sasha Burns, Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Number of Guests: 60
There is nothing I personally love more than a beautifully put together intimate wedding. An event where you get to enjoy the company of your guests with quality conversation, great food, a beautiful venue and excellent drink! This is exactly what Sasha and Kevin wanted for their nuptials, a small wedding surrounded by the people they love most, at a unique venue that could provide their dream day. Sasha and Kevin wed in our Ceremony Room adorned beautifully by the team at Lillypad Weddings and their stunning floral arrangements. After saying “I Do” our Scooter staff provided champagne to toast our gorgeous couple before guests moved upstairs for the celebration! The Dakota room was transformed - colourful floral arrangements and spectacular centrepieces lit the room to help Sasha and Kevin celebrate their stunning intimate wedding. Beautiful alternate main meals of oven baked chicken and tender eye fillet more than satisfied guests hunger, but in true Red Scooter fashion, we love to leave on a sweet note – in this case our trademark chocolate fountain combined with delicious bakers market definitely ended the night on a high note!

Event Name: Georgina and Jamie Carpenter, Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Number of Guests: 120
In one of the coldest August months in history, Georgina and Jamie made the right call on hosting their wedding ceremony inside; but by no means compromised on style. With our ceremony room set up beautifully, the simple but elegant backdrop of silk curtains and chic painting was just enough to emphasise the gorgeous bride. With the formalities over, the wedding party made their way upstairs, to the modern Parisian styled Dakota room. Guests mingled whilst hand held dinner was served, to the smooth tunes of Garry East Wood. Guests were treated to our Candy Spot station, as an alternative or additive to the gorgeous Ab Fab Cake!

"Jamie and I would like to say a very big thank you to you and the rest of the team at Red Scooter. We had a fantastic night, everything was perfect! We really appreciate all of the hard work that went into organising the wedding ceremony and reception it is a credit to you."

Everyone new that this was going to be the wedding to remember as the ceremony commenced and Cameron started singing the processional music with his best man playing guitar, his stunning bride walked down the aisle. After the ceremony guests proceeded to make their way in to the Madisson room where they were welcomed with delicious food and bubbling champagne to congratulate the beautiful couple on their new journey that they were about to embark on together.

Event Name: Darren and Laurren Spiteri Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Number of Guests: 110
It was a surprising day for guests at Darren and Laurren’s wedding. Guests were amazed to find half way through the ceremony that the couple had already secretly wed in the Cook Islands! Once guests had recovered from this humorous shock they were guided up stairs to the Madison room were the reception was held. They danced the night away to the beat of DJ Colin, while the kids utilized the mezzanine level for their own entertainment.

Event Name: Thomas and Rebecca Carboni Wedding Reception
Number of Guests: 160
Whilst guests awaited the arrival of newlyweds Thomas and Rebecca, they enjoyed canapé and beverage service in our gorgeous Ceremony Room. Guests proceeded upstairs to be seated for the arrival of Mr and Mrs Carboni. The Hamilton Room played host to the wedding reception, decorated in our signature table look two, a stunning black based design with eye catching crystal centrepieces. The couple chose to add an extra personal touch to the event styling for the day, and incorporated the bridal party bouquets as unique centrepieces for the bridal table. The night was memorable and vibrant, with the mixture of great entertainment, food and fantastic beverages at
Melbournes best wedding reception venue.

"We would like to thank you all for your efforts in making our event a very special and memorable one for the wedding of our daughter Bec to Tom on Saturday night. We all felt extremely welcome and everyone is raving about the service, food and the whole experience. Well Done to everybody!"

Event Name: John and Leny Houlihan Wedding Ceremony and Reception
Number of Guests: 60
John and Leny’s intimate Wedding welcomed guests into our stunning Ceremony Space. Candelabra’s and crisp white roses were the only things required to provide the perfect back drop for this perfect couple. Entering the Dakota Room, guests were greeted by our team that provided them with beverages and food chosen by the couple. John and Leny chose a unique banquet style setting in the X configuration with Red Scooter’s stunning signature look 2, customized with a magnificent tea light centerpiece. Guests enjoyed Red Scooter’s entree, main and dessert asiette plates, offering a premier variety of indulgent flavors of three items served on the one plate for each course…. Outstanding.

"Many thanks to you Eammon and staff for an incredible night. From the minute we arrived to the very end you and the girls performed faultlessly. A number of guests stated to me it was the best wedding they had attended. The ceremony room and function rooms looked superb, the food was fantastic and the service from the staff was great. The associates you recommended were of equally high standard, Wally the celebrant had the mix just right, Steve and the band had all the guests up and involved and Nigels photos are great. I am sure we will see you at further functions at Red Scotter as Leny and I are recommending you to our friends. Once again Eammon many thanks, it could not have been a better night'.
