Red Scooter spring

When times get tough, the tough get to functions! It's appealing, and logical. The value of events to organisations can increase moral in tough times.

Why and how you say? The GFC, that's not the 'Geelong Football Club', but the 'Global Financial Crisis', has affected us all. Confidence in the business and consumer markets has been way down. Everyone's been battening down the hatches, reducing debt/ costs, and having their sales margins squeezed.

Your clients feel the pressure in their work environments – and so do staff. Many organisations have had to let some of their staff go. Even though the outlook is brighter, it's a tough environment and everyone is feeling the pinch.

The challenge is to motivate staff and clients. To make them feel positive about their work and to get them back onboard, to contribute to the team once again.

That's where Red Scooter comes into it. Without dragging out all the old clichés, good events can be motivating, rewarding and inspiring. To cut through the pessimism we need to encourage better outcomes for the future.

The right event can give your clients and staff a boost to build on relationships which will last. When there's lots of doom and gloom, the effects of an event are even more powerful.

At Red Scooter, we're not immune to the down turn, and we're squeezing our own margins, to ensure that you get the best possible value from every hard-earned dollar. Ask us about our 'Doom Buster Package and prepare to welcome back the good times.

As ever, if you'd like to discuss any aspect of a planned or possible function, please come and have a chat and drink on us.

See you soon,

Eammon Hamilton

PS. We're all Growing Greener
The ongoing saga of carbon trading, renewable energy and the coming Copenhagen meeting are contributing to an increasing awareness of the environmental affects of our actions. We're finding more corporate and individual clients are asking about how they can reduce the carbon footprint for their event. As Australia's first carbon neutral event venue, we have had many years of preparation. Just ask us how!

Featured Events

Don't you wish you were here? No, seriously, we've had some incredible times recently with designing themed events. Here are some case studies and happy snaps from the last few months.

Christening, Hollyscooter style!

One of our youngest ever guests of honour celebrated his Christening at an all-out-glam Hollywood style event. Classic Hollywood characters, fantastic flavours from cuisine-based food stations and music from the movies all combined for a great night EJ probably won't ever remember!

A complimentary bottle of red or white to the first person to correctly identify EJ. Hint – the answer's on www.redscooter.com.au.

Big ammmmmmmmazing for Big M

When 'National Foods' chose Red Scooter to re-launch their iconic Big M brand, we knew it would be something special. Creating the theme 'The Greatest Show on Earth. The venue was transformed into the 'Bigtop' circus tent. As guests entered the venue, the Ring Masters welcomed them to a night of intrigue and magic. With spectacular feature acts, such as a magician lying on a bed of nails (let's hope he's a light sleeper!)

Putting heat back into the Kitchen

'Kitchen Aid' celebrated their retailer's night of nights, by bringing the kitchen into the restaurant at Red Scooter. Product demonstrations, food tastings and Red Scooter's legendary service combined to deliver a great time to all.

With the help of our inhouse AV crew 'Select AV', we were able to create live screen feeds to multiple plasmas placed around the room.

Where in Paris did the wealthy met the
underworld, at The Moulin Rouge!

When 'Hume Highway Southern Alliance' held an end of project celebration, at Red Scooter we put our thinking caps on to create a theme that the guests would be blown away. With deep red velvet draping, black antique bird cages, large black & red features took guests back in time to the height of The Moulin Rouge's popularity. Staying at Crown Promenade, Abigroup guests were bussed to their mystery destination (us!) for a wonderful night of fun and frivolity.

Ho Ho Ho – Now's the time organise your Christmas Celebrations!

Introducing the newest member of the Sales Team

Red Scooter likes to formally introduce our new Events /Sales Coordinator 'Chantelle Gualano'. Chantelle has been active in event industry for many years, and has gained a wealth of knowledge through study and past employment. But that's not why Eammon gave her the job…….

Chantelle got the gig because of her passion, creativity, team work and commitment to getting things done. Of course having a good time along the way is always high priority. But don't take our word for it, give her a call on 9527 6846 to discuss your next event and see for yourself.

Big names find it Smarter to go Smaller

'Corporate Excess'. Two words guaranteed to gain negative exposure in the papers and online news and an angry a response from senior management and stakeholders. But there is an answer.

Conservation Celebration. It's not conservative, but it's sensible and all about having a great time with lower financial and environmental costs.

Some people may call it downsizing, but we prefer to think of it as rightsizing. After all, who can really feel comfortable about a lavish event at a premium-priced venue, with an expensive menu to match, when all are preaching cost-reduction?

We're noticing an increasing number of clients switching from high profile Yarra River Bank venues (you know who they are) to Red Scooter. Not that we're complaining.

Look at it from a guest's point of view. Coming to downtown Balaclava is less predictable than going to the glitzy side of town, so there's an adventure there. Add the unique Red Scooter environment and you've got something to rock the socks of the most jaded event goer. Not to mention the personal service and individual attention to detail that you're not likely to find at a big corporately run venue.

But we refuse to skimp on the important things – we just like to think we can help you do it smarter. If you want genuine French champagne (and what else is there?), we're happy to oblige. Only we'll recommend something less ostentatious (although still deliciously drinkable) than your standard premium priced labels. The French wine market is like the Australian one. Just because you've never heard of it, doesn't mean it isn't good. It just means the winery don't spend as much on advertising.

The same goes for the rest of your event. From the menu to entertainment, themes and more, we'll work harder to ensure that your guests have a five star experience that doesn't cost you the earth. We are always flexible with our prices and can deliver astronomical savings.
