Spring Corporate Newsletter
Hi Scooter Friends!

It’s been a bitter cold winter, but for the team here at Red Scooter, the warmth never left. With a successful chilly season behind us, we look forward to the coming warmer months, and the busy event season that comes with it! Our reputation is out there (partly due to our new fame on Four Weddings!), but mostly through successful functions and the word of mouth from our happy clients. We are fans of spreading the love here at Scooter, so if you had a great experience with us, tell the world!

As we approach the silly season and the fabulous office Christmas parties that go with it, our team are working hard to accommodate every event and request. If you haven’t booked your Christmas Party yet, give Red Scooter a call and see what holiday magic we can add to your event.

MISfortune Cookies

As one of our newest projects, Red Scooter in partnership with the Port Phillip Community Group has established a mission to make and promote “MISfortune Cookies” for Anti-Poverty Week 2011. The aim is to sell the “MISfortune Cookies” to raise money and awareness of poverty within our community. A few of the gang from PPCG came down to Red Scooter, where our Head Chef Joel Reilly helped them cook and construct fortune-cookies. The project will be launched in-house in October, to a variety of media, potential community partners, and potential investors. From this, we hope to launch the project into the community by October 2012.

Finals Restaurant and Catering Awards – Wedding

In striving for excellence, we consistently try to better ourselves and learn from our competition. For this reason we continually enter/and or are nominated for awards within the industry.

We were lucky enough to become a finalist in the Wedding Catering category for Restaurant and Catering Victorian Awards 2011. This is a huge honour, and one we will be chasing to win next year!

Four Weddings – Ingrid and Ryan Braybrook

If you are yet to discover this gem of a television show, get on it. And not just because Red Scooter features twice in this series. In a contest to win a luxury honeymoon, four brides compete against each other, attending and critiquing their rivals’ weddings. Appearing in the first episode of the series, our client Ingrid described Red Scooter as a “renovated warehouse”. Not exactly how we market ourselves, but boy how shocked the girls were when they arrived. The venue scored top points with the contestants, and our enquiries skyrocketed after the show aired. Unfortunately our couple didn’t win, but the venue sure did! Be sure to keep an eye out for our next appearance with Paul and Marie’s wedding. We have a pretty good feeling about it…

Case Studies: Shelford Fundraiser

The atmosphere was electric. The Blue and White Diamond theme was evident in every space, from the crystal chandeliers and centerpieces, to the Champagne Diamond on offer as a prize for a lucky winner. As a cause close to Red Scooter, we didn’t hesitate in being a sponsor and venue for Shelford Girls Grammar Fundraiser; The Quaerite Dinner. Blue and white crystals were sold, each with an engraved number on it, as an entry fee to the night’s major prize.

Holloway Diamonds offered up the grand prize, with a one in 100 chance of taking home the beautiful stone! Guests were welcomed into EJ’s Space, where the stunning venue played host to canapés and cocktails with Gerard Assi entertaining us on acoustic guitar. As photos took place on the red carpet, staff welcomed guests into the Hamilton Room, transformed into a dazzling dining room.

Francis Greenslade from Channel 7’s “Winners and Losers” was MC for the evening, before the feature band Headspace hit the stage. Guest on the evening Ross Wilson even got on stage to perform for the crowd! Between sets of brilliant music, Daniel from Biggin and Scott auctioned off the nights goods, and the silent auction drew much attention. The night was an enormous success, raising over $50,000 for the construction of Shelford’s new Quaerite Centre.
